EDOU carried out community needs assessment on climate change, water and sanitation in Kikandwa, our Seed Village. There was accelerated climate change impact in terms of prolonged dry seasons and irregular rainfall patterns, affecting agriculture production and livelihoods. There were no proper point water sources while the existing ones were shared by both humans and animals. The impact of climate change was evident. EDOU carried out a Baseline survey in Kyankwanzi district which revealed severe lack of access to clean and safe water in the area. Kyankwanzi is a rural district of Uganda located 150km West of Kampala. Kyankwanzi lies in the dry belt of Uganda also known as the Cattle Corridor.
